A two-car crash at the base of the Cuesta Grade backed up traffic heading into San Luis Obispo on Friday afternoon.

A Subaru and a Toyota crashed on the southbound side of Highway 101 just north of Reservoir Canyon Road at about 2:25 p.m., the California Highway Patrol traffic log said.

The crash created a hazard in the No. 1 lane of the southbound side of Highway 101.

The crash resulted in one minor injury, according to discussion on the police scanner.

Emergency responders started a traffic break at the summit of the Cuesta Grade, the CHP said.
