Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by car in SLO

A pedestrian was struck by a car and severely injured in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday night, the San Luis Obispo Police Department said.

The car hit a 56-year-old man on Prado Road, police spokesperson Christine Wallace said. The incident occurred at around 8:40 p.m.

The pedestrian was in critical condition Wednesday at a local hospital, she said.

“The driver stayed at the scene, was cooperative and is not suspected DUI,” Wallace said in a statement.

The Police Department’s Severe Collision Incident Detail responded to investigate the crash, she said.
