A San Luis Obispo County highway closed Friday afternoon after a semi-truck got trapped in the center divider.

Traffic heading in both directions on Highway 46 East near the Highway 41 interchange in Cholame was stopped, Caltrans announced in a post on X at 12:42 p.m.

According to the agency, a big rig got stuck in mud after driving into the center median.

Caltrans estimated the highway closure would last for at least two hours and authorities attempted to extract the truck.
