Hwy. 101 exits to close in SLO County for 10 days. When, where to expect delays

San Luis Obispo-area drivers could face traffic delays when a pair of Highway 101 exits close due to construction, according to Caltrans.

The closure will also affect a lane of the highway, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Crews will be working to improve ramp safety by applying surface treatments, conducting vegetation control and making landscaping improvements, Caltrans said in an Oct. 29 news release.

Here’s what to know:

Where are Highway 101 closures?

Caltrans is closing two northbound Highway 101 ramps near downtown San Luis Obispo to conduct roadwork, according to Caltrans.

The northbound Broad Street on-ramp and the northbound Osos Street off-ramp will be blocked to traffic, Caltrans said.

The auxiliary lane that connects them will also be closed, according to the release.

When will freeway exits, lanes be closed?

The lane and ramp closures begin at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, and will remain in place for 10 days, the road agency said.

“Travelers are advised to plan their travel through the downtown corridor accordingly,” Caltrans said in a news release. “Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of these closures.”

The $2 million project is expected to continue through June 2026, according to Caltrans.
