A crash on Highway 101 near the bottom of the Cuesta Grade plugged traffic in and out of San Luis Obispo on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page, at around 3:34 p.m., a crash was reported in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near Reservoir Canyon Road.

The crash occurred in the fast lane and involved one vehicle, according to the CHP page.

A tow truck was requested at around 3:38 p.m., and medical responses to the scene of the crash were called off shortly afterward, according to the CHP page.

The No. 1 southbound lane of the highway was open as of 3:42 p.m., and traffic breaks were set up at TV Tower Road and Tassajara Creek Road between 3:51 p.m. and 4:06 p.m.

The No. 2 lane was temporarily open as of 4:08 p.m., but traffic continued to crawl through the southbound side of the highway as of 4:13 p.m.
