Downtown San Luis Obispo businesses will move their wares outside this weekend as part of the city’s first sidewalk sale.

The Downtown SLO association is hosting the first in a series of sidewalk sales on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The one-day-only event will feature 39 participating businesses and discounts on clothing, accessories, home decor collectibles and more, according to a news release.

Shoppers will also have the chance to win gift cards to downtown businesses as part of a digital passport challenge.

For every six businesses participants visit and “check in” to, they will be entered into a drawing to receive a bundle of gift cards valued at a total of $40 or more, according to the release.

The gift cards available will be to: Super Silver, Assistance League Thrift Store, Roxanne’s Birkenstock, Making SLO, Sandbox Kids, Wildflower Women Boutique, Pottery Barn, Moondoggies Beach Club, HumanKind Fair Trade, Junk Girls, Growing Grounds Downtown, Len Collective and Blue Harvest Apparel, according to the event website.

Eight winners will be chosen in the drawing, the release said.
