Structures threatened as wildfire burns 100 acres in rural SLO County

Crews responded to a vegetation fire Saturday afternoon that threatened structures in California Valley.

The Alma Fire, located near the intersection of Highway 58 and Seven Mile Road north of Soda Lake, burned 107 acres before foreward progress was stopped just before 3:30 p.m., according to the Watch Duty app.

The fire initially had a potential for 200 acres, north of the Carrizo Plain National Monument. Three structures were threatened by the flames.

Multiple air tankers responded to the fire, which burned in light and flashy fuels, according to Watch Duty.
