Car crashes into Pismo Beach motel, injuring 3 people

Three people were injured — two critically — when a car crashed into the side of a downtown Pismo Beach motel on Wednesday night.

According to a San Luis Obispo County Fire Department post on X, a vehicle drove into a building on Ocean View and Dolliver Street at 8:30 p.m.

Emergency response app PulsePoint listed the address of the traffic incident as 390 Ocean View Ave., which is the address for Ocean Palms Motel.

According to the Fire Department, two patients were transported to the hospital with critical injuries, while another suffered minor injuries.

“Building is unstable and the building department is on scene,” the agency wrote.

Further details on if the injured parties had been in the building or in the vehicle were not immediately available.

Numerous emergency response vehicles were at the scene as of 9:40 p.m., including some from the Pismo Beach Police Department, San Luis Obispo County Fire Department and a tow truck for the vehicle involved in the crash.

Cal Fire workers could be seen attempting to clear away and secure a large hole in the side of the building where the motel’s front office appeared to be and preparing to board it up.
