Did you feel it? Earthquake shakes SLO County beach town

A 3.6-magnitude earthquake rattled a San Luis Obispo County beach town on Thursday morning.

The earthquake struck about 14 miles northwest of San Simeon at 6:41 a.m. on Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake registered a 3.6 magnitude on the Richter scale, which means it was considered a minor earthquake that was felt by some people but was unlikely to cause any damage, according to Michigan Technological University.

According to USGS, 32 people reported feeling the earthquake by about 9:15 a.m., with some located as far away as Arroyo Grande to the south and Salinas to the north.
