SLO County vegetation fire injures 1 person, burns vehicle

A vegetation fire in the hills east of Lopez Lake injured one person on Wednesday morning, according to emergency radio traffic.

The fire was reported at 2500 Hi Mountain Road at 10:28 a.m., according to the emergency response application PulsePoint.

At 11 a.m., emergency responders identified a burn patient and asked that the individual be delivered to a spot where the pavement and dirt met on Hi Mountain Road, according to discussion on the police scanner.

The fire had burned 2.5 acres of grass and brush as of 11:13 a.m. when forward progress was stopped, according to the Watch Duty app. Initally, the fire had the potential to spread to 50 acres, according to radio traffic.

Meanwhile, a burnt vehicle blocked the road, and emergency responders requested a bulldozer to remove it.
