Several vehicles stopped to assist, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page.
When CHP arrived at the scene, officers determined a 17-year-old juvenile in a 1998 Lexus sedan was driving northbound on West Centre Street at the same time a female adult was driving a 2015 Toyota Highlander eastbound on Highway 46, the release said.
According to the release, the juvenile then for unknown reasons drove directly in front of the path of the other vehicle and “both parties were unable to avoid a collision.”
CHP said the Toyota stopped in the highway median and the Lexus came to rest on the shoulder of the road.
