A 911 service outage affected both landlines and cellular calls in San Miguel, Arroyo Grande and Nipomo the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The outage appears to be impacting Frontier Communications, Verizon and possibly AT&T customers, the agency warned.

Individuals in affected areas who attempt to call 911 and receive a busy signal or failed call are advised to try calling again from a different phone or to call the Sheriff’s Office directly at 805-781-4550, option 3.

The outage appeared to be part of a larger regional issue, which also impacted Santa Barbara County, the Sheriff’s Office said.

There is no estimated time of restoration at this time.

The outage marks the third sudden service cutoff in the county on Tuesday.

Airport operations were temporarily shut down due to an air traffic control outage and power for hundreds in eastern San Luis Obispo County was cut off Tuesday morning.
