Sheriff asks for public’s help locating missing SLO County teen

Missing person incident depicts emergency personnel in boat on water

A teenage resident of San Luis Obispo County was reported missing late last week — and authorities are seeking the public’s help in bringing her home.

According to a news release from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Navada Austin was last seen leaving the area of her residence in Nipomo at around 11:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Austin has possibly been spotted in both San Miguel and Santa Maria since being reported missing, accompanied by a white male juvenile, according to the release.

According to the release, Austin and the white male juvenile may be attempting to travel out of state to Washington.

Austin was described as a white female standing 5’ 9” with green eyes, brown hair and a light complexion, according to the release.

She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and a nose ring, and was carrying a black backpack, according to the release.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office encouraged anyone with information on Austin’s whereabouts to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at 805-781-7812.
