Downed power lines spark fire in area near SLO County outage

A vegetation fire was reported in the same area of northern San Luis Obispo County where a power outage was reported on Wednesday morning.

According to emergency radio traffic, downed power lines were reported by Cal Fire in the 3100 block of Nacimiento Lake Drive west of Paso Robles at around 10:19 a.m.

Multiple emergency response units were dispatched to the scene of the half-acre fire, which could spread to around three acres along Nacimiento Lake Drive in the stretch between Oak Flat Road and San Marcos Road, according to radio traffic.

Earlier Wednesday morning, an outage cut power to around 1,317 PG&E customers in that same area of Nacimiento Lake Drive.

According to PG&E’s Outage Center website, power was expected to be restored by 11:45 a.m.
