Is your teenager hoping to get some job experience this summer?

Several companies in San Luis Obispo County are hiring part-time employees for seasonal work.

The Tribune looked through online job boards including Indeed, LinkedIn and ZipRecruiter to find open positions available to teens.

Here’s what we found:

Cashier and/or prep cook | Part-time or full-time

  • Employer: Fatte’s Pizza, 5735 El Camino Real, #D, Atascadero
  • Pay: $16.50 to $17.50 an hour

The Atascadero pizzeria is looking for employees who can take orders in person and over the phone, as well as handle cashier responsibilities.

Workers are also expected to complete food preparation, cooking and cleaning.

No experience is necessary to start and advancement opportunities are available.

The part-time position is open until filled.

Floor staff | Part-time or full-time

  • Employer: Regal Cinemas, Inc., 1160 W. Branch St., Arroyo Grande
  • Pay: Information not available

In the floor staff position, the employee works in the theater’s box office or concession stand or throughout the theater as an usher.

Workers are expected to answer guests’ questions, sell tickets, handle the cash drawer, tear tickets, direct patrons and manage crowd control.

If working around concessions, the employee must properly stock inventory and make sure the concessions area stays clean.

The part-time position is open until filled.

Food service crew | Part-time or full-time

  • Employer: Quesadilla Gorilla, 790 Foothill Blvd., San Luis Obispo
  • Pay: $16.50 to $17.75 an hour

Crew members are expected to work a variety of shifts that consist of taking food orders, prepping quesadillas, packaging orders and ringing up customer purchases.

Other duties include preparing ingredients, cleaning and opening and closing the store.

People 16 years old or older are encouraged to apply.

Grocery clerk | Part-time

  • Employer: Sprouts Farmers Market, 313 Madonna Road, San Luis Obispo
  • Pay: $16.55 to $20.75 an hour

Grocery clerks are responsible for stocking shelves, filling frozen foods bins and maintaining store cleanliness.

Workers also receive product deliveries, move goods to the sales floor and rotate merchandise.

People 16 years old or older are encouraged to apply.

Lifeguard | Part-time

  • Employer: Avila Bay Athletic Club & Spa, 6699 Bay Laurel Place, Avila Beach
  • Pay: $18.50 an hour

The lifeguard must monitor pool areas and enforce safety rules.

The lifeguard is expected to respond quickly to emergency situations and perform water rescue and CPR if necessary, in addition to ensuring the pool environment is clean and safe.

Other responsibilities include setting up and cleaning poolside equipment, as well as some facility maintenance work.

People 15 or older are invited to apply. The position is conditional on obtaining American Red Cross lifeguard certification.

Lifeguard | Part-time

  • Employer: Templeton Tennis Ranch, 345 Championship Lane, Templeton
  • Pay: $19 an hour

The lifeguard is expected to keep swimmers and guests safe at the club’s aquatic facility.

Duties include monitoring the pool area, enforcing safety rules, preventing poolside accidents and responding to potential emergencies.

The part-time position is conditional on obtaining American Red Cross lifeguard certification.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Scoop shop scooper | Part-time

  • Employer: Negranti Creamery, 871 Froom Ranch Way, Suite 120, San Luis Obispo
  • Pay: $16.50 an hour

Negranti Creamery is seeking a cashier and ice cream scooper to serve customers frozen treats at its San Luis Obispo shop.

Employees are expected to maintain a positive attitude towards customers and follow health and safety standards.

Workers 16 years old and up are encouraged to apply.

The part-time position is open until filled.

Swim instructor I | Part-time

  • Employer: Cuesta College, Highway 1, San Luis Obispo
  • Pay: $17.42 to $20.16 an hour

Under the supervision of the aquatics coordinator, swim instructors give swim lessons and training to students of various ages and abilities.

Employees are expected to use program curriculum and create a safe learning environment.

People 15 years old or older are able to apply for the part-time position.

The application period closes on Monday, June 30.

Zipline tour guide | Part-time or full-time

  • Employer: Margarita Adventures, 22719 El Camino Real, Santa Margarita
  • Pay: $16.50 an hour

The tour guide is responsible for leading a group through hiking and a zipline course at Santa Margarita Ranch.

The employee is expected to ensure visitors’ safety and provide insight about the history and working on the ranch. Other duties include setting up and tearing down all zipline gear and equipment and assisting guests with harnesses and helmets.

People ages 16 or up are encouraged to apply. Candidates must pass a paid 40-hour training course prior to starting guide work.
