SLO cyclist hit by truck, dragged 30 feet down street in DUI crash, police say

A cyclist was struck by a car and dragged down Broad Street in San Luis Obispo late Tuesday evening.

According to a post to Instagram by the San Luis Obispo Police Department, a pedestrian was walking their bike in the bike lane near the Marigold Center when they were struck by a pickup truck.

The truck dragged both the pedestrian and their bike around 30 feet down the road before stopping, according to the post.

The pedestrian was transported to a San Luis Obispo hospital with moderate, non-life threatening injuries, while the driver was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics, according to the post.

The name of the driver was not released.
