Head-on crash stops traffic on Highway 58, sends 2 to hospital
A head-on crash between a pair of vehicles on Highway 58 in northern San Luis Obispo County stopped traffic Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page, at around 6:50 a.m. the CHP received a report that a gray Dodge Ram pulling a trailer collided with a black Toyota Prius on Highway 58 near O’Donovan Road.
The reporting party could see smoke from the crash, prompting a request for Cal Fire and an ambulance, according to the CHP page.
Two patients were transported by ambulance to Adventist Health Sierra Vista hospital in San Luis Obispo, according to the CHP page.
The road was reopended around 8:22 a.m., though traffic was still moving slowly through the scene of the crash as citizens attempted to slow approaching traffic coming around a nearby blind curve, according to the CHP page.
