The Grover Beach Police Department is bringing a new event to its residents this summer, including fun for the whole family from music to a drone light show.

According to a news release from the Grover Beach Police Department, Grover Beach Night Out is a new community event intended to bring together friends, families and neighbors through live music, food trucks, community vendors and more.

“This is a chance for our department to connect with our community in a positive, fun environment,” Chief Jim Munro said in the release. “We’re excited to host an evening that showcases the heart of Grover Beach — great people, an awesome community, and a strong sense of togetherness.”

Grover Beach Night Out will also feature a pinewood derby race and bounce house for kids, and will be capped by a grand finale of 200 drones performing an aerial light show, according to the release.

Admission is free, and attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets, according to the release.

The event — which is supported by the Nichols Foundation in addition to the Police Department — is set for Saturday, July 26 from 5 p.m. to dark at 16th Street Park, according to the release.

More updates will come in the next few months from the Grover Beach Police Department’s social media.
