More than 7,000 without electricity in SLO County. When will power be restored?

Update, 5:50 p.m.:

Power appears to have been restored to all by 239 customers in Nipomo, according to PG&E’s outage map.

The remaining customers without power were along residential neighborhoods off Division Street. An estimated time for restoration of power was not given.

More than 7,800 PG&E customers were without power due to a massive outage in Nipomo on Monday evening.

According to PG&E’s map, the unplanned outage was reported around 4:36 p.m. and was impacting 7,830 customers.

The outage stretched across most of western Nipomo from Highway 101 to Highway 1.

The utility company said crews were “evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on.”

Power was expected to be restored by 8:45 p.m., according to PG&E.
