The Los Angeles wildfires just reached 100% containment — but the future of homeowners insurance in California has never been more uncertain.

With the insurance cost of the deadly wildfires projected to rise to around $30 billion according to CNBC, homeowners insurance is expected to become more expensive and harder to procure, exposing homeowners to more risk.

In San Luis Obispo County, that means yet another heightened housing cost to contend with — and The Tribune is interested in learning how your insurance will be affected.

If you’ve lost homeowners insurance or have been forced onto the California FAIR Plan in the past five years, we want to know why.

If your insurance costs have risen in recent years, we want to know how much.

If insurance pricing is pushing you out of this county, we want to hear about it.

You can get in touch to share your experience with insurance through our survey.
