Garage fire damages home in Atascadero
A fire that began in the garage damaged a home in Atascadero on Saturday morning.
The Atascadero Fire Department first received notification of the incident at around 9:30 a.m., according to emergency services app PulsePoint.
Fire engines from Atascadero, Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero State Hospital and Cal Fire, as well as battalion chiefs from Atascadero and Cal Fire, responded to the blaze off Maple Street, according to a news release from the city.
“The first engine that arrived on scene encountered heavy fire coming from the interior and rear of the structure,” the city said in the release.
No one injured in the fire, the city said, and a total of 20 personnel responded to the incident.
It took about an hour to fully extinguish the fire, the city said.
