Car crash blocks 2 lanes on Cuesta Grade, slowing Hwy. 101 traffic to a crawl
A car crash on Highway 101 slowed traffic to a crawl on the Cuesta Grade north of San Luis Obispo on Tuesday afternoon.
At around 1:30 p.m., a black SUV was involved in a crash that scattered debris across the No. 2 and 3 lanes of the southbound side of Highway 101 just below the summit of the Cuesta Grade, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page.
Tow trucks and emergency services were dispatched shortly afterward, the CHP said.
No injuries were reported in the initial CHP report, but one ambulance was seen leaving the site with a single patient.
As of 1:45 p.m. the No. 2 and 3 lanes were closed to clear debris, and tow truck arrived to removed the damaged vehicle.
The scene was cleared by 3 p.m., and traffic flow returned to normal.
