Portion of Bob Jones Trail will temporarily close during new year. Here’s where and when
If you’re planning to kick off your New Year’s Resolution with a nature walk under a canopy of trees, San Luis Obispo County is certainly the place to be.
Just avoid the Bob Jones Trail, as it will be temporarily closed for maintenance early next year.
The San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department will close a section of the trail from Ontario Road to Blue Heron Drive for “routine maintenance” from Jan. 6 to 10, a news release from the agency said.
The maintenance includes “restoring the pathway shoulders, clearing out accumulated sediment from drainage pipes and replacing one drainage pipe that is damaged,” the release said.
The county will post signs before and during the trail closure.
“The county of San Luis Obispo appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding as this important maintenance work is completed,” the release said. “The goal is to minimize disruption to users while ensuring the trail remains a safe and enjoyable asset for residents and visitors.”
