Will rain provide relief to SLO County’s dry December?
According to Wofford, SLO County has been experiencing a very dry December.
“We’re quite a bit below normal,” in terms of rain levels, he said.
So far, the storms passing through the county have been “little weak systems” that have not led to much rainfall, he said.
The sprinkles arriving around the holidays will not be enough to make up for the lack of rain in the final months of the year, according to Wofford.
He said SLO County was having “a very slow start to the winter.”
However, he said that could change in January and February, when rainstorms typically arrive on the Central Coast.
“This has definitely not been a very normal start,” Wofford said. “That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to (stay) that way.”
