A car careened off of Highway 101 on Wednesday morning and crashed into the sign for the nearby Tesla dealership.

According to a post on X from the California Highway Patrol, a gray sedan veered off of the freeway south of Madonna Road heading southbound, landing on Calle Joaquin.

The car crashed into the red Tesla sign outside of the dealership at 1381 Calle Joaquin, suffering significant front end damage and causing moderate injuries to the driver, according to the post.

The crash also appeared to damage a water control valve in the dealership’s landscaping near the street, dousing the nearby area in water.

The scene of the crash was being cleaned up by emergency personnel as of the CHP’s 7:35 a.m. post.
