Road work

Watch out, San Luis Obispo County drivers.

A Highway 101 off-ramp in Atascadero is temporarily closing due to construction, according to Caltrans.

Here’s what to know:

When and where is Highway 101 construction?

The northbound off-ramp to San Diego Way in Atascadero will close from 9 am. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, the California Department of Transportation said in a news release.

Why is SLO County freeway off-ramp closing?

The city of Atascadero is repaving San Diego Way, Caltrans said.

Detour signs will be in place to assist with traffic control near work areas, according to the agency.

Caltrans called on motorists to be cautious when driving by ongoing construction.

“Highway workers deserve to get home safely too,” the news release said. “Drive slowly and carefully in work zones.”
