Nearly 3,000 PG&E customers lost power for a couple hours Thursday afternoon due to an unplanned outage in San Luis Obispo, according to the PG&E outage map.

The outage was reported at 2:39 p.m.

It impacted 2,989 customers located from just south of Santa Margarita into San Luis Obispo and the Cal Poly campus. Most of those affected were located east of Santa Rosa Street.

“Our team is evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on,” PG&E said at the time.

By 4:38 p.m., power was restored to all customers affected by the outage.
