A new building that’s been taking shape off Las Tablas Road in Templeton over the last few months is slated to become San Luis Obispo County’s newest luxury hotel.

The Cambria Hotel in Templeton — a design concept by Choice Hotels International — will have 132 rooms, including some extended-stay suites, according to Doug Filipponi, an owner of the property and a principal in the hotel.

The hotel will have a range of amenities, including a restaurant and cafe with bar services, a swimming pool and spa, games, and a spacious outdoor area suitable for hosting weddings and other events, Filipponi told The Tribune.

“We’re really excited about getting a beautiful new hotel for folks to use up here in North County,” Filipponi said.

The plot of land at Renegade Circle and Las Tablas Road was originally approved for hotel development in 2014 as part of a large concept that included retail, office and residential spaces.

The current hotel plan was approved by the county in 2021, and construction began in 2023.

The hotel is scheduled to open in May 2025.
