3 children, driver injured in rollover crash in San Luis Obispo
A rollover crash in San Luis Obispo injured one adult and three children on Saturday.
A 20-year-old Grover Beach resident was driving the children in an SUV northbound on South Higuera Street on Saturday afternoon, the San Luis Obispo Police Department said.
At about 6:15 p.m., he ran a red light and collided with a truck turning left from Suburban Road onto South Higuera Street.
The SUV rolled over upon impact, injuring the driver and the child in the front seat, police said. Two children in the backseat suffered serious injuries.
“The driver, front passenger and one of the children were transported to a local hospital for care. The other child was flown out of the area to a children’s hospital for specialized care,” police said in the news release. “The driver and all passengers are in stable condition.”
The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
The Severe Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
“Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as a cause in this crash,” the news release said.
