Fire torches mobile home in rural SLO County
A fire fully engulfed a mobile home in San Luis Obispo County on Thursday afternoon.
According to emergency services app PulsePoint, at around 3:12 p.m., Cal Fire received a report of a vegetation fire near Simmler in rural eastern San Luis Obispo County northwest of Carrizo Plain National Monument.
Arriving around 3:24 p.m., firefighters found a double-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames, with the fire largely contained to the vegetation and structure on the 13000 block of Grant Road, according to PulsePoint.
No occupants were reported in the structure, but several animals were at risk for exposure to the fire, along with vehicles on the property.
A smaller spot fire was also reported around 3:30 p.m., measuring 100 feet by 150 feet and burning in vegetation near the mobile home, according to PulsePoint.
At around 3:38 p.m., several smaller buildings on the property were also involved in the fire, according to PulsePoint.
