2 SLO County outages knock out power to nearly 1,100 PG&E customers
Nearly 1,100 PG&E customers across San Luis Obispo County lost electricity Monday morning in two power outages.
According to PG&E’s Outage Center website, power was off for a total of 1,089 customers due to the outages as of 9:45 a.m., both of them unplanned.
A North County outage impacted 601 customers in the area around Creston, and a South County outage affected 488 customers in a stretch between Nipomo and Arroyo Grande.
By midday, while the South County outage had been resolved, while the Creston outage had been reduced to 119 customers. Power was restored to North County customers at around 5 p.m.
Areas in the North County reported losing power at 7:34 a.m., according to the company. South County outages were reported at 6:22 a.m.
A vehicle crashed into a power pole on Creston Road near the North County power outages at 7:39 a.m. Monday morning, which California Highway Patrol attributes as the probable cause of the outage there. Power lines were down across the road when emergency vehicles arrived on the scene, according to Caltrans.
Power was expected to be restored across the county by 4:30 p.m., but some areas may may fixed as early as 10:30 a.m., according to the utility company.
