Highway 101 lane closed through August for rockfall fence project on Cuesta Grade

The lane will remain closed every Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. as work continues on the rockfall fence project, lasting as late as the end of August, according to a Caltrans post on X.

A lane of Highway 101 is closed at the bottom of the Cuesta Grade this week as Caltrans works on a fence to prevent rocks from falling onto the roadway.
The No. 3 right lane will be closed for one mile near Old Stage Coach Road on Highway 101 southbound at the bottom of the Cuesta Grade until Friday.
Caltrans will construct a rockfall fence over the hillside just north of San Luis Obispo. Work started Monday and will last through the week, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
