One person was hospitalized with major injuries after a crash outside of Arroyo Grande on Tuesday evening.

Shortly before 6 p.m., a motorcycle and a Ford F150 truck collided at the intersection of Lopez Drive and Country Oak Way, according to a news release from California Highway Patrol.

The release said the motorcyclist and truck crashed when the motorcycle failed to or could not slow down at the intersection and collided into the rear end of the truck as it was stopped waiting to turn onto Country Oak Way.

According to the release, the driver of the motorcycle, a 54-year-old male, was unconscious but breathing when police and emergency services arrived. He was hospitalized for major injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The release said neither driver was arrested and drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

CHP told The Tribune on Wednesday night that the collision was currently under investigation.
