Body of missing person washes ashore on Pismo Beach
A body of a man who went missing last week was found on the shore of Pismo Beach on Friday afternoon, according to the Police Department.
Sgt. Kyle White said the body was found by a beachgoer and reported to the police at around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
According to White, the deceased person was a male in his 50s or 60s, and has been identified as the subject of a missing person report filed to the Pismo Beach Police Department around 5 a.m. on April 4. The department did not identify the man.
The body was exhibiting signs of rigor mortis by the time police and detectives arrived on scene, but the cause and time of death are currently unknown, White said.
Pismo Beach Police Department detectives are currently investigating the cause of death, White said.
More information about the incident will likely be available Wednesday, White said.
