COVID stopped SLO library group’s annual book sale. Now it’s back and bigger than ever

For the first time since 2020, San Luis Obispo Friends of the Library’s annual book sale is returning to the San Luis Obispo Veterans Memorial Hall.

The group have held small events since the pandemic, but COVID testing and FEMA disaster relief took the floor of the main hall for the last three years.

Over 40,000 books, CDs and DVDs with a wide range of genres will be available.

Most books will be priced at $1.50 per inch and CDs and DVDs will be priced at $.50 each. With the backlog of inventory, this sale is anticipated to be the largest yet.

Sale proceeds benefit future San Luis Obispo Library collections, programs and services.

The sale opens to Friends of the Library members only Thursday from 3 to 9 pm. Individual membership is $10 and $20 for a household and available online slofol.org or at the door.

The sale then opens to the public on Friday and will last through Sunday. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Further discounts will be offered on the final day of the sale after 1 p.m. with books selling for $5 per bag and $10 per box.
