Pedestrian struck, killed by car on Highway 1 on Central Coast
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Saturday afternoon on Highway 1 south of Orcutt, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The collision occurred at about 5 p.m. on southbound Highway 1 south of Highway 135, said fire Capt. Scott Safechuck.
The adult male victim, who was struck by a sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene, Safechuck said.
His name was not released pending notification of relatives.
The sedan driver, an adult male, was not injured, and remained at the scene, Safechuck said. His name not was not released.
One highway lane was closed for a time in the area of the collision, which was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
