Insomnia Cookies is making life sweeter this National Cookie Day with free cookies for all.

Starting Friday, Dec. 1, anyone who shows the Insomnia app in-store can score a free classic cookie and a $1 deluxe cookie, the late-night bakery said in a news release.

No purchase is required for the free treat.

The offer is also valid on in-app deliveries through Monday, Dec. 4, in celebration of National Cookie Day.

Started in the U.S., the annual holiday is a celebration of all things cookies, be they fresh-baked or store-bought. It was founded in 1987 by San Francisco’s Blue Chip Cookies as a day “for all of us to indulge and enjoy cookies,” according to the bakery’s website.

At Insomnia Cookies, customers can choose from classic flavors including chocolate chunk and peanut butter chip. Cookie lovers also have their pick of deluxe creations such as s’mores, salted caramel and oatmeal chocolate walnut.

The bakery operates more than 250 stores nationwide and is best known for serving up warm cookies, brownies, ice cream sandwiches and more late into the night.

The Insomnia Cookies shop in San Luis Obispo is located at 22 Chorro St. Living up to its name, it’s open to 3 a.m. Thursday to Saturday and to 1 a.m. Sunday to Wednesday.
