The new Katcho Achadjian Government Center sign was unveiled Friday in a ceremony in front of the county building in downtown San Luis Obispo.
SLO County Supervisor John Peschong emceed the festivities, which were attended by all five members of the board, Achadjian’s family and others.
Achadjian’s wife Araxie, his daughter Nyri and son Hratch all spoke at the podium before Araxie pulled down a blue cloth revealing the new sign.
Achadjian served three terms on the county Board of Supervisors, representing the South County, and three terms in the state Assembly. He died on March 5, 2020, at age 68.
The board voted to rename the building in December 2022.
