Driver trapped in vehicle overnight on Central Coast after rollover crash
A man was trapped overnight on Monday after his vehicle went off Highway 135 south of Orcutt and overturned, landing on its roof in the brush, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Shortly after 8 a.m., firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched to northbound Highway 135 at Graciosa Road after a passerby reported seeing the vehicle off the road, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
The 54-year-old man had been trapped in the wreckage of the vehicle for several hours, Safechuck said.
Firefighters had to extricate the man from the vehicle, which ended up about 10 feet off the road.
The driver, who had minor injuries, was taken by AMR ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
His name and details on his condition were not available.
The rollover crash was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
