This SLO County beach is one of the best for skinny dipping in California, new list says
If you like to go for a naked swim, chances are you already know about San Luis Obispo County’s only nude beach, Pirate’s Cove.
Some more folks might soon be flocking to the spot to enjoy a tan-line-free experience: The beach was just named one of the best skinny dipping spots in California in an online ranking.
Pirate’s Cove ranked No. 9 out of a list of the 13 best places in California to ditch a swimsuit and enjoy the sun and waves, according to MyDatingAdviser.com.
Those 13 spots include “an enticing mix of secluded beaches, natural hot springs and stunning lakes,” according to the list.
MyDatingAdviser.com — a dating website that offers singles advice and reviews — analyzed more than 800 beaches across the United States, looking at beach quality, safety, weather and accommodations, to compile a “comprehensive study” of the country’s best skinny dipping spots.
In California, the best skinny dipping beach was College Cove in Trinidad, followed by Apple Valley’s Deep Creek Hot Springs and La Jolla’s Black’s Beach.
Pirate’s Cove made the California list thanks to its secluded beach “with a stunning view of the cliffs and ocean.”
Other nearby beaches to make the list were Panther Beach in Big Sur (No. 12) and Gaviota State Park in Gaviota (No. 13).
