The Old SLO Trolley is back: Here’s when and where you can ride it this summer
San Luis Obispo’s classic cable-car-style trolley is back in service.
The Old SLO Trolley has returned for the summer, making trips on Thursday evenings through Sept. 7.
The throwback trolley has been serving the city of San Luis Obispo since July 1990.
The trolley will operate from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., making a loop down Monterey Street and through downtown every 20 minutes.
“We are thrilled to see the return of the Old SLO Trolley Service,” Public Works Deputy Director of Mobility Services Jennifer Rice said in a city news release. “We encourage community members to hop on, explore and appreciate all that our downtown has to offer.”
According to the city, the trolley “offers passengers a convenient, car-free form of public transit and is perfect for traveling to and from downtown for dinner and shopping, even Thursday Evening Farmers’ Market.”
The price of a trip is just 50 cents for most passengers, and 25 cents for seniors or disabled riders. The trolley is accessible and equipped with air conditioning, the city added.
The trolley stops are:
