Human remains discovered near walking path in Atascadero
Human remains were discovered near a walking path in Atascadero on Sunday, according to the Police Department.
The remains were reported near a path on Las Lomas Avenue, the Police Department shared in a news release on Monday.
An investigation as to the manner of death as well as the identity of the person are underway.
“There are no preliminary findings to indicate it is suspicious or the result of foul play,” the news release said.
The Atascadero Police Department believes that “the remains had been at the location for an extended period of time based on their condition.”
