Early morning fire severely damages SLO home, displacing resident

An early morning fire severely damaged a San Luis Obispo home on Thursday and displaced the person living there, according to the San Luis Obispo City Fire Department.

SLO City Fire received a call about a residential structure fire on Olive Street at about 3:40 a.m. Thursday, according to the emergency response application PulsePoint.

By the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was “heavily involved” in the blaze, SLO City Fire said via Twitter.

Photos and video show the roof engulfed in flames with smoke pouring out of the front door.

By 4:48 a.m., the firefighters had extinguished the blaze.

One person lived on the property, and they were displaced by the fire, SLO City Fire said.

No injuries were reported, the agency said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
