SLO County girl hurt after sister throws kitchen knife at her, sheriff says
A 10-year-old girl stabbed her older sister with a kitchen knife on Wednesday while they were home alone in Los Osos, according to the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office.
After the sisters began to argue, the 10-year-old threw a kitchen knife at her 12-year-old sister, agency spokesperson Tony Cipolla said, and the knife landed in the older girl’s arm.
Cipolla said the 12-year-old then ran outside crying, prompting a neighbor to call 911.
When deputies arrived, they found the knife in the older sister’s arm.
The girl was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Cipolla said, and deputies were unable to determine whether a crime had occurred.
According to Cipolla, the girls were turned over to their parents and the office referred the matter to San Luis Obispo County Child Welfare Services.
