SpaceX launches rocket carrying satellites from Vandenberg. ‘Go Falcon! Go Starlink!’
After delays pushed back the launch earlier in the week, a SpaceX rocket carrying the company’s Starlink satellites finally took off Thursday morning from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Thursday morning.
The Falcon 9 rocket blasted off from the Central Coast military base at 6:40 a.m., jetting through a dense layer of fog.
“Go Falcon! Go Starlink,” a launch official said during the livestream of the liftoff.
The rocket successfully carried 46 of the aerospace company’s Starlink satellites into orbit.
After separating with the payload, the first-stage rocket returned to a launchpad stationed on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
