Helicopter called to help rescue 2 possibly injured hikers on Bishop Peak

A California Highway Patrol helicopter was dispatched to help San Luis Obispo City Fire Department crews rescue two possibly injured hikers on Bishop Peak.

The rescue began at around 12:20 p.m. Thursday, according to the emergency information app PulsePoint.

The two hikers were off trail and had “possible injuries,” San Luis Obispo City Fire Department posted on its Twitter page Thursday.

“Fire crews are verbal contact with the hikers via phone and have eyes on their location and are working to make access,” the tweet, posted at 1:12 p.m., said.

California Highway Patrol’s Helo H70 was in route to assist the city Fire Department crews, the tweet said.
