A car crash slowed traffic on Highway 101 near San Luis Obispo on Friday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident report page, a crash involving a semi-truck and car was reported near the southbound South Higuera Street ramp at 11:12 a.m.

Initial reports said the car drove up an embankment and flipped several times before landing on its roof.

CHP Lt. Jason Grimm said it appears a Toyota Camry spun out and hit the side of a big-rig truck before going up the embankment.

“Thankfully injuries are minor and (the driver) was transported to the hospital,” Grimm said. The truck driver was uninjured, he added.

The incident briefly blocked the No. 2 lane of Highway 101, causing some traffic backups, according to the CHP page.

Caltrans QuickMap showed traffic backed up to just after the Madonna Road exit.

According to the CHP, the lane had been cleared and the incident was no longer blocking traffic as of 11:40 a.m.
