Update: At-risk teenage girl found after being reported missing in SLO

A missing at-risk teenager has been found, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
“Alyssa was located and returned home safe,” the agency posted on Twitter at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday. “Thanks everyone for the retweets!”

San Luis Obispo police turned to social media to ask for the public’s help locating an at-risk missing teenager.
Alyssa Vanwyk, 14, was last seen Friday at Mission Plaza in downtown San Luis Obispo, according to SLOPD posts on Twitter and Instagram.
Vanwyk has a history of running away from her placements, the posts said. She is considered an at-risk juvenile.
Vanwyk is described as 5-feet, 5 inches tall, 120 pounds, with brown and faded hair dyed orange.
Anyone who has seen the teenager or knows where she’s located is asked to contact SLO police at 805-781-7312.
