Update: Highway 1 reopens in SLO after car crash downs utility lines

Highway 1 had reopened to traffic in both directions as of 9:24 a.m. Sunday.

Original story:

A car crash blocked Highway 1 traffic in both directions at Stenner Creek Road on Sunday morning as crews worked to repair downed utility lines.

Drivers were being rerouted through the Cal Poly campus as of 8:30 a.m.

The California HIghway Patrol was on the scene along with utility crews.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, multiple vehicles were involved in the Highway 1 collision, which occurred just before midnight.

One vehicle ended up on its roof, the CHP said.

However, the agency said, only minor injuries were reported in the crash.
