Car hits, injures pedestrian walking in crosswalk in SLO
A vehicle struck and injured a San Luis Obispo pedestrian on Wednesday evening while she was walking in a crosswalk, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
The woman, identified as a 26-year-old San Luis Obispo resident, was crossing Santa Rosa Street to head east on Mill Street around 5 p.m. Wednesday when she was hit by a vehicle headed southbound on Santa Rosa Street, police said in a news release Thursday.
The pedestrian sustained “moderate injuries” and was transported to a local hospital, police said.
“The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation,” the agency said in the release, adding that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.
